Here is a list of all the ICH9R boards on newegg. Looks like you're lucky and have a popular one.

You just plugged it in to a brand new board, plugged in the 2 drives, went into the BIOS and enabled RAID and it worked?
DAMN, where did I go wrong?
Edit: just for the record it was 2 different X38 boards.Foxconn X38A Digital Life.

raid was already enabled as I have a 4 drive setup going right now that I have been using for the last few weeks.

I left that raid array alone and instead just hooked my two other hard drives up and it saw them and that they where in a raid array and recognized it from the start.

just curious did it recognize both drives?

Thread Starter
rx7, what boards did you use where the swap worked? Do you think I should stick to DFI P35s, or would you think all P35 ICH9R boards would work? And can you confirm that the ICH9R is in fact what controls the RAID?

Has anyone else had any experience moving RAID arrays on a P35 chipset?

Thanks for the help guys!

the board I went from was an asus p5b which has the ICH8R southbridge to an asus p5k which has the ich9r
if your using the onboard raid your using the ICH9R. if your curious look up either the ICH9R or intel matrix storage manager.
here is some info from intel on it
