HTPC/Quad Upgrade

First I want to know when Intel plans their next price drops and when you guys think the 8800 series will stop droppiing from the release of the 9xxx series.

Here is what i'm planning to get:
http://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/...Number=7600212

It won't let me add thise to my cart:
MSI 8800 GTS 512 (Free Witcher Game) $199
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127325

So my basic plan is to take my sig rig and the parts mentioned above and make a awesome gaming/encoding pc and a htpc to watch on the 37" HDTV.

Current:
Intel E6400
Tuniq Tower 120
Asus P5B Deluxe
8 gigs g.skill pq
OCZ 600 Watt GamerXStream
EVGA 8800 GTS 320mb
2x320 7200.10 seagate raid 0
1x320 7200.10 seagate backup
2x 20x DVDRW sata
22" Viewsonic

So end results would be:

Primary:
Intel Q6600 (Upgrade from E6400)
Tuniq Tower 120
Asus P5B Deluxe
8 gigs g.skill PQ
OCZ 600 Watt GamerXStream
MSI 8800 GTS 512mb (upgrade from EVGA 8800 GTS 320mb)
2x320 7200.10 seagates raid 0
500 gig wd aaks backup (Upgrade from 320 gig 7200.10 seagate)
2x 20x DVDRW sata
22" Viewsonic

The HTPC would be:
Intel E6400
Zalman 9500 (stolen from X2 3600+, will put stock amd HSF)
Asus P5B (Open Box) (I have alot of sata cables and such
2 gigs G.Skill HZ
Xclio 500 Watt ATX (stolen from X2 3600+, the X2 will get the aspire case psu)
EVGA 8800 GTS 320mb
320 gig Seagate 7200.10
8X DVDROM (stolen from x3600+, leaving a 20x DVDRW in the X2 for my son)
Vizio 37" HDTV

So Is $700 to upgrade my sig rig and to have a HTPC a good idea?

Here is what will happen to my son's X2:
X2 3600+
Biostar TForce 550 SE
2 gigs G.skill HK
Aspire psu (don't know the specs, downgrade from a XClio 500 watt goodpower)
200 + 80 gig IDE HD
EVGA 7600 GT 256 MB
20x DVDRW
19" Hanns G

Kind of just depends on what you want to spend your money on. Do you really want or need and HTPC, once you start talking extra rigs and such it's really just how far you want to take it.

Your son might enjoy the old 8800gts 320mb better than your HTPC though.

The 7600 GT can't display the correct resolution for the HD 37" TV

I have alot of AVI/DVDs on my HD so I could watch them, I have a wireless keyboard and mouse and a extra DLink wireless adapter so I could also surg the net in the room.
