I'm not dissing your cooler cause I have no experience with it, but I think skullzflare didn't care much for the gemini

i wish i would have got the gemin back when it was free with mir my x2 gets to 2.88 on stock cooling. i have gotten it to 2.99 but was highley unstable so im guessing with a new cooler i could definitly breach 3ghz but if i just get a marginally good one then i could probably just do the same. so is it really worth the 50 bucks? or should i go with something thats like 30 and get the same results?

I second that!My CPU and cooler are lapped and it runs 47c full load at 3Ghz.
Mine will go higher but I don't want to push it too hard.
Here is 3.134Ghz on 1.55 vcore.

Most information I've read says that AMD X2's hit a wall due to their natural limitations, not heat. Intel's tend to scale better with increased voltage, whereas AMD X2's do not. I'm willing to bet you'd get roughly the same overclock with any decent aftermarket cooler, whether it's an AC Freezer 7 Pro for under $30 or a Tuniq Tower for $50. If you went with the Tuniq, you'd be able to push the voltages a little further, but as previously mentioned, the X2's don't scale very well at these higher voltages so you'd probably only get a couple more ticks on the reference clock. Even a $25 CPU cooler will allow for around 1.45-1.50v. A $50 cooler might allow for 1.55v, but you won't see much gain from that.

One advantage you'd definitely see from a better cooler is a slightly longer lifetime for the part. But how long are you really going to keep that X2 3600+ anyway?

I am running 3.2 slightly unstable with stock cooling, And although i was thinking of getting a TT120 I decided to go with the Arctic cooler freezer 7 Pro. I found it for $22.xx free shipping on ewiz, Actually i didnt find it it was referred to me from a thread I started. Matter of fact where the hell is it, probably get here today.

My reasoning was price for performance , I could have gotten a TRUE or a TT120 , but this one takes the cake especially at $23.00
Looks like the price went up but its still pretty cheap HERE
