RAM is frustrating eh? (yet another suggest me...)

Ok... so in the past week here's what went down:
1) fried my D9GMH double sided ballistix for the second time in a year. Bummer, I really like how that stuff runs, but I see a lot of blown ballistix of late. So...
2) Bought some Corsair 2x2Gb XMS 5-5-5-18 sticks. They were not really stable, definitely not overclockable, possibly deffective, possibly just not friendly with my MB. So....
3)Took the XMS back to Frys for exchange and what do you know......$39.99 Micron D9GMH 2x1Gb double sided Ballistix are in stock! Great! I'll take two kits!!!! So....
4)get to the counter, pay, and the guy hands me Crucial non-ballistix PC6400 sticks- with no heat spreader and samsung ICs. :swearing: They sold out and tried to pull a switch-a-roo! Bastards!
5)thru the return line (again) and back to shop for more RAM. Here's what I got: Patriot PDC24G6400 2x2Gb Same price, but without the egg's rebate.

I kinda like the Patriot sticks though, they run well- 4-4-4-12 timings at 2.0V on 2x2Gb is pretty good IMHO. Anyone know what ICs are on the patriot kits, or at least where to find out?

But then there are these from Patriot also:
Viper PC6400 4-4-4-12 and Viper PC8500 5-5-5-15

Since I could get what I have cheaper with rebate, or something with a better heat sink for the same price I'll be ordering from the egg and getting my cash back from Frys. Only real quesetion is are the PC8500 sticks and PC6400 the same IC???

Before i say anything on firying ure ram.

Have u Ever thought that it could be ure PSU doing this ?

Or even ure Motherboard over volting ure ram.

Ive had Ballistix for over 6 months. And they have being running 2.2v at 5-5-5-15-2T for that time.

IF 2 sticks die so fast i would suggest looking into other things.

I know that my Maximius OVs and I do account for it. 2 sets of sticks, 2 different boards, both VDimm tested with a DMM to be under 2.20V
