Hello from scotland! (No, I dont wear a skirt)

Thread Starter
Hello everybody! I have browsed these forums a little and found some really great advice from all you lovely talented people At the mo my gear is nothing fancy but I'm sure that will all change when you convert me to the dark side. In particular I am looking forward to quietening my PC right down and maybe boosting the performance a little too.

Anyway just wanted to say hi, and be gentle!

Thanks
Cuthbert

for performance oc using your bios for the cpu overclock and rivatuner to oc your 7900. (but i'd recommend getting better coolers especially for your cpu)

As for noise you can get silicon/rubber "screws" to hold your fans in place, and rubber mounts for your harddrives, although the rubber mounts could raise your temps a tiny bit. Getting a non stock cpu cooler would help since they're generally quieter, like a zalman or a T.r.u.e. Replacing the fans with quieter ones would help, along with getting some sort of fan controller to allow you to turn down the fans when you're pc is on but does not need as good cooling.

And welcome to ocn.

haha thanks demosquad. i wish i had posted this sooner because I have already found out most of your advice the hard way! I plan to get a Thermaltake Ultra 120 and change the fans for Noctua NFP12s. The Antec P180 has rubber mounts for all the drives which is nice. I forgot to say I tweaked the graphics up to 450mhz based on advice in some of the threads here. My main problem at the mo is the PSU. But i digress. Thanks for the welcome!
