Omg I Have Front Panel Audio!

Yea, its been 3 years, but I've finally upgraded my case to one that has front panel audio.

That case is the Antec Sonata 3. I bought it locally for only $10 more than NCIX sells it for, and considering that shipping is $20 and the local store is literally just up the street, I'd say I got a pretty good deal.

Now I know that there are better cases out there that I probably should have gotten instead, such as the 900 or CM690, but nobody sells those locally and I really don't want to pay shipping .

Overall it dropped my ambient and my idle by 10C, and my load remains basically the same. Not bad, considering the major problem with this case was it's thermal issues. Most importantly though, my ears feel strange. The reason is because I have to strain my ears just to hear this case. Which is the exact opposite of my old case, where I had to turn the volume up to hear my TV.

Even more most importantly(yea I'm making up grammer, but I don't care) is the fact that I HAVE FRONT PANEL AUDIO! that means no more reaching around my case blindly trying to plug my mic in.

I also picked up a Raidmax 120mm fan from the used parts at the store for $7, which is pretty OK in my books.

One thing to note for my fellow 650i users is that this case comes with both AC'97 and HDA(High Definition Audio) plugins for the front. If you are using HDA then not only do you have to plug that one in, you need to go into the BIOS and switch it from AC'97 or it won't work. You can't have AC'97 and HDA at the same time, even if everything is plugged in correctly.

Pretty good deal? Check out how much it goes for at NewEgg!!! How can one person get so lucky? Nice, nathris! Very nice. I'm very happy for you, bro!
