2 unorthodox questions

Thread Starter
1. If a loop was connected to a large enough basin, say 5+ liters, would it be ok to go passive or radiator-less? This is on a frosty 3.2ghz AMD 5000+BE that doesn't run hot anyway.

2. If I go passive, what's the quietest reasonably priced pump I can get?

Thanks guys,

- a WC noob

Why do you want to run your system passive?

A nice radiator and some fans would work great..

I wouldn't... your ambient would HAVE to be REALLY low... you could MAYBE use a rad w/ no fans...

Water heats up fairly fast...You best bet would be to get a large rad with some ultra low cfm fans on it like the Yate Loons...Modders Mart has a quad heater-core for around $80 bux and then there is the 480GTX also...

For a pump I would go for a D-5 mounted on rubber washers or a piece of foam..

I've known of the resorators for a bit, too pricey for me. The goal is to silence my PC as much as possible, and I'd like to do it for as cheap as possible. I was also thinking of using a 20 gallon fish tank.
