Well I feel like an idiot. But I'm new to this, my comp didn't explode and I'm willing to learn. Lemme go put em back to stock.

Yeah our systems are identical, but I haven't tried 1.4v. I was afraid to.
Don't be afraid. The chip can take well over 1.5V in the BIOS. What stepping is it? Depending on that just watch the temps.

M0 Stepping: 72C
L2 Stepping: 65C

.

don't feel bad... Unless you know how RAM works, the timings are counter intuitive.

They are actually latencies, which should be mentioned in the BIOS but they just assume you know it already usually

Alright, I but the timings back to 5,5,5,12. Bumped up to 1.381v and 300x10. Booted, ran Orthos and it crashed in a minute and a half. Grr. The BSOD was too quick and I didn't get to see what it said. I'm going to go to 1.4v now. If Orthos crashes, I don't know what I'll do next.

Its M0 stepping, by the way. And I found the box. Packed 1/15/08, guessing thats bad?

Loosen that timing to 5-5-5-15/18. Booting with 1.4v is ok, how do your temps look like? have you tried upping the voltage on the FSB/MCH by +.1v?

*Edit*

A CPU-Z pic of your main page and Ram page would help alot.

Timings are 5-5-5-15 right now, gonna go to 18 in a bit then raise the MCH by 0.1v. We have progress though, thanks guys. But not quite there.

I'll do that in a second, but first, whats this mean? Orthos didn't BSOD, just found an error.

Based on the date of the packing, i'm guessing that ~2.95GHz is going to be your limit (that's what the finding are showing) But if you can rule out the RAM, and the Motherboard, then it's definitely your CPU.

When i first started, I could get windows to boot at 3GHz, but everything would fail (come to find out, it was my RAM) Try to keep your ram at stock voltage, timings, and speed, and your CPU at stock voltage and FSB, and then run MemTest86+ to see if it's your ram (you need to let it complete 10 complete cycles, each test consisting of 10 tests) and then once that passes, then boot into widows and load orthos see if you're stable there. If you get errors, then your ram is bad.

I'm booting on 3.0Ghz now, but Orthos gets that error I posted earlier. If I can figure out what the error is maybe I can fix it and go further, but if its a bad one I'll just go back to 2.9Ghz and OC the RAM.
