Overclocking my e2180. Need advice. - Page 3

That particular error is a CPU computation error, It comes from an unstable O/C.

*Edit* The one thing that i'm thinking will help you is try using a lower multiplier instead of 10. Try 333x9. Lower multies use way less Vcore and increase the FSB dramaticly

Good luck, and hopefully you can get to 3.0 but it sounds like its the new chip problem.

My old chip was 3.2 on just above stock voltage. I got rid of that one and bought a new one a week or so ago and i cant get it stable at 2.95 with anything less than 1.45v

Pack Date: 2/26/08
Batch:L748A301

Feel free to PM me if you figure something out or have a specific question. Ill do my best.

You shouldn't need to start increasing NB Voltages until your FSB is above 333, as the P35 chipset will run this at stock settings! It supports 1333FSB (Quad pumped) CPU's, so it will go to 333 easily.

I have to agree with lowering your mutliplier. Take it down to 9 and increase your FSB to 333 and you'll have 3.0GHZ

I say it's the cpu because I cannot go past 3.0GHz no matter what I do either. I've tried everything that has been suggested to me, and nothing works. The pack date on my cpu is 12/17/07.

So, I keep it at 2.95GHz (10x multi).

Try a setting of 1.425V in the BIOS. As long as the temps are below 70C there isn't a problem.

Overclocking means tweaking endlessly

Anyway, so far you are doing quite OK

3.0Ghz stable for hours and hours has been achieved! I wanna thank everyone who helped me. Loosening the RAM and putting it to 1.425v was the trick. I can even boot on 3.1 but it crashes like last time. Now I know voltage is the problem, and the RAM is just fine. I'm gonna sit on 3.0GHz and put the RAM clock speed up, that sound good? Thanks everyone.
