Sounds like mine. Mine reaches 65C (both cores read the same always) above 3.6 GHz.

erm, thats kinda wierd. I get 39 idle and around 56 load, at 4.2. I would try to keep the temp down below 60, but im not an expert on this.

Are you knew to overclocking or something. It "can" be ur ram. Try setting it to 1:1 aspect ratio (FSB:RAM Unlinked). This overclocking guide is a great one: http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/...ing-guide.html

The core temps on these CPU's are, for the most part, flawed in some degree in many of the E8400's. I only know mine is safe because I've tried 3 different HSF's and have been in possession of 2 different E8400's and 3 different DFI DK T2RS boards. And I'm still only 99% sure that I'm safe....there's always the chance they didn't put enough/put too much solder or TIM between the core and the IHS of the CPU.

You still might need to try reseating that CPU if you can, just don't reuse your current TIM. You must clean both the CPU and the Heastsink throroughly and use some good stuff (sorry if you already know all of this). I use Arctic Silver 5, there's also something called Shin Etsu (spell??) that everyone's been raving about lately.
