Well, there might be a few here and there, that was a sweeping generalization by me What I've noticed is that 1.8v is standard for DDR2, but some of the "better" memory pushes the voltage higher to acheive tighter timings at stock speeds, such as DDR2 800 at 4-4-4-12 or DDR2 1066 at 5-5-5-15. Since 5-5-5-15 is pretty loose by today's standards for DDR2 800, I'm not suprised that it takes standard DDR2 voltage of 1.8v. I'd be surprised to see DDR2 800 at 5-5-5-15 that takes 2.1v, since cheap IC's running at 1.8v should be able to get the job done just fine, and if there's a way to save money by using cheaper parts we all know they'll do it. I'm sure there's exceptions to this though.

Durch, then I guess that explains why it won't run at 2.1volts. If he were to make the timings tighter would the motherboard require more voltage? Perhaps this is the problem from the beginning

First of all, I'd like to say.. You all have been extreemly helpful. Next, I'd like to add, I STILL CAN'T CHANGE THE MEMORY VOLTAGE. Ahh. I feel much better now. LOL, even on the overclock tab, no voltage displayed. This just doesn't make sense.

And I like where you guys were going with the above post, but I just don't know what settings to change in the bios. Like I've said, there is just way too many and they are named funky. Maybe Asus with come out with another update for the BIOS and make the names make more sense. Well, I guess that would have to be America Megatrends actually, since they are the ones who makes the BIOS.

Back to the subject at hand... I reset the BIOS to Default. I chose the 3% overclocking profile. Booted windows, and that didn't even pass a stress test. It lasted 2.5 min. Maybe I'm just maxed out here. i don't feel that way though. It just seems like there is so much more power begging to come out of this cage, and I just don't know which key unlocks it.

Austiclees, what options in the BIOS are you having troubles understanding? Perhaps we can assist you with that. Have you just tried starting fresh and resetting everything to default? I have heard the 6400+ is a difficult processor to overclock. If you think about it the K8 tech is already being pushed at 3000mhz. Try with 3300Mhz (16x * 206HTT). Start with the stock voltage and see how Orthos goes. Hopefully Durch will respond with some good ideas

Good luck buddy!

Ok, I'm a little confused, and maybe you've already posted this, but are you unable to FIND the memory voltage option or are you changing it and it's not "sticking". If you have a digital camera and can take some pictures of your BIOS we can probably pick out which option it is, and also help you set the other options.

If you've found it and it's not "sticking", try unplugging any USB devices from your computer (other than the mouse and keyboard if they're USB). Sometimes this can help.

Pictures would really be helpful though. I had an ASUS M2N32 SLI Deluxe and I'm willing to bet the BIOS is almost identical. Once I see the options it should come back to me (hopefully).

Yes Sir. I wonder if there is a program out there that emulates the bios, so you can just play with it in a windows environment but not actually change settings. Then you could just donwload it and play with it. I have the latest BIOS they released by the way, I'm at work right now, but I think it's revision 1001. It was 8hundred something before. 1001 just came out a few weeks ago.
