LOL I jsut got mine and when I was installing them I pulled the heatspreader half off of one. When I install ram I give a little tug outwards to make sure they are seated. Not much jsut a little tug. Anyways one of the heatspreaders slid half off. I took both sets off as the thermal tape wasnt even contacting the chips much at all and they came right off both modules.

Oh well I put my thermaltake heatsincs on and gonna play with them a bit. Seem good so far.

Please post some lovely pics of those naked ICs for us.

It wouldn't be right not to.

I already know they're PowerChips, but the more info, the better...maybe i can eventually determine how to tell which are the better binned PowerChips

Hey, I've been considering getting these as well. What do these get on the Vista memory scale? I ask because I recently built my friend a computer with some discount Corsair ram, 4 gigs for 40 bucks and they scored a 5.6, while my HKs score a 5.9

Any idea? Also, is this relevant to anything?

5.9 on vista scale. I have no clue what vista does their score on.

Mines runs perfectly at 4-4-4-12 1066 2v.

All the vista scales currently only go up to 5.9 it's probably way beyond that. They said they'd raise it for newer hardware at some point i think.

Good thing they went down in price too... used to be at $149.99.

Honestly we should just put something on the Memory front page saying to get them if you are asking. I have seen quite few threads asking about them, and personally recommend them.
Great price, seem to overclock well.

Here's a thread from a while back with a bunch of info. The first post has some good performance specs that people have achieved:

According to the link above some folks have achieved DDR2 1129MHz CL5-5-3-15 at 2v. The highest I've run them is 1067. I had no problems but I didn't try getting the timings real tight...left it at 5-5-5-15. I was tempted to try over 1100 but never did.

For the price, it looks like its a great deal. I'm going to place my order tonight for a set. I plan to run them at DDR2 1068 24/7, that shouldn't be a problem should it?
