Let me put it this way. You cannot go too wrong with the PS3.

It has fantastic Titles now and in the future.
Its well built and has a fairly low faulty rate .
Its FULLY HD ready with Blu-ray.
Great Multimedia capability.

Overall it can do what the 360 does + More. I know some will find that insulting but that is the truth in the long run.

PS3 is far better IMO. I bought a 360 about a year and a half ago. It was used, but i had a warranty and RROD within a month or 2. So i go and swap it for another one. Maybe 6 months later, not even playing it a whole lot, just from time to time, another RROD. So i said screw this piece of junk, sent it to MS, bought a used PS3 and sold the 360 when i got it back. I am so glad i did. I love the PS3. There really nothing i dislike about it. Some don't like the main menu deal, but i do. Plus you can have custom themes (including my OCN theme ). It can play all kinds of media, and has an internet browser. There are some great games for it now, and more to come. The only pro i see to 360 is that Live is apparently better. PS3 online is fine for me, although im not a hardcore online gamer. Plus its free, unlike Live. It also has HDMI (which 360s now have) and Optical Out Audio incase your Receiver doesn't have HDMI like mine.

you posted this thread in the playstation section. most users who visit here are playstation fans so.. hence the result of the poll.

I do however vote PS3 because of its blu-ray capabilities, its gaming lineup and future lineup for 2008, and its free internet functions. It basically serves as the beating heart of all my media in my room and nothing goes better with a HDTV. So thats my reason.

Yeah but the 360 CANNOT win now since HDDVD is dead and microsoft decided not to go with a blu-ray add-on which would have scored them alot of $$ because now 360 buyers that want a Blu-ray players can buy a PS3 since its the cheapest way to get one.

Bias opinion commencing...

I went with a PS3 mainly for the games library. In my personal situation, I have a great gaming PC (as far as I'm concerned) and wanted to play some of the exclusive PS3 titles more than the exclusive 360 titles. I haven't even thought about regretting the PS3 purchase because I am unaffected by its disadvantages like online play. I don't play it online because I have my PC for that.

There are other threads on here that go into the exclusives of each system, so I will let you decide if that matters or not without listing those games. But to me, it mattered the most. I don't have too much time to play games recently, so leaving the PS3 folding in the meantime is also great, if you care about that.

Also consider the downloadable content on each system. For PS3, Pixeljunk Monsters and Super Stardust HD are great games each costing $10. I also wouldn't put too much meaning into the poll either.

It seems the public opinion on the PS3 is slowly changing...

Mak, you should go for the PS3. Its got great titles like GT5 and MGS4 exclusive to it... and its a cheap Blu Ray player. Its also moddable however you want (Linux/bigger HDD) and online play is free. You can fold for OCN with it and in my opinion looks better graphics wise and nicer controllers.

The 360 fail rate that you are hearing about is from the people who bought the first revision of the 360, that doesn't happen anymore, not even close to as much as it used to.
Kind of, my first revision lasted a full year before RRoD. Whether or not my second 360 was a first revision or not (i got it back this January.) Well that is now broke, with hardly any gaming.

But then PS3 are not perfect either. Every console breaks but you are practically 70% guaranteed to get an RRoD if you get a 360. That 70% is in no way accurate, i'm merely saying the chances are pretty high.

Heh, it seems that way doesn't it

Well for my i have all 3 current gen consoles. Personally the Wii sucks, but that is a personally opinion and nothing to do with the console itself.

However i can't decide between the 360 and the PS3 when it comes to games.

The PS3 does play in full HD on some games. It differs from game to game but if you look on the back it will tell you what it is capable of running at (720p, 1080i, 1080p)

And let me tell you, Drakes Fortune looks amazing at 720p! And is an awesome game to

Resistance looks good a 720p also! Which is also a good game and COD4 looks excellent at 1080i!

Overall the games library is stronger for the 360 we all know that. But then again i don't think the PS3 has a weak library either.

I would say go for the PS3 if that is your personal choice. I don't personally use the Blu-Ray player or the media part of it. So i just using them as gaming machines. Personally i would choose the PS3 at this moment in time, especially if you are a GT fan!

But i will just say one thing that no one else has said. No matter which one you get, you won't be disappointed.

Tbh I kinda see the appeal with the PS3 but Im a big believer in PC gaming, thats why I bought a Wii (yeah you can laugh) but I brought that because i enjoy Nintendo games and the functionality and fun playability of it and when Im done playing with it i can go back to my comp and play on there. I like it because it does what i want it to be, and what i want it to be is a games console, not anything else just that, turns out its pretty fun aswell lol.
