whats better an xbox 360 or a custom built rig? - Page 2

Your rig would be more powerful, at least in the graphics department. However, if you are building from the ground up, a 360 is better if you have less than ~$700 to spend. If you have more money than that, a custom built rig is certainly the way to go.

I love my pc, but I hardly game on it anymore. I use my 360 elite instead, which I might add has never given me any trouble during the 9 monthes I've used it.

Well they DO sell keyboard/mouse for consoles so people who extensively rely on mouse can use their "mouse and keyboard" for their console as well...

1GB DDR3... Sorry to say, but thats not how you do it.

A 360 is a budget computer... And too be honest, a 360 is better. You get better graphics for the money, and there are games that are only only the 360 (Halo 3, Mass Effect, Guitar Hero, etc, etc) that are desirable... A PC however can have a theoretical higher end resolution output, and you can do more than just play games on one.

I prefer to play Crysis on my PC with the xbox 360 controller (well Logitech Chillstream, but it's based off the 360 controller). It just seems more natural. But I do prefer my Razer Deathadder and keyboard with Prey and HL2. And as stated above, they DO make a keyboard and mouse setup for the PS3 specifically aimed at those who prefer it over a controller with FPS.

And low strife, kinda irrelevant, but they do make Guitar Hero for all consoles AND the PC, and I've even seen a mini version for the Nintendo DS (that seems retarded though lol). I can't think of any title for the xbox 360 that you can't get for the PS3 or even PC, besides like Halo 3 as you said. But of course, that's all a matter of opinion.

Point is, for everyone besides hardcore PC users, most average people can do just about anything they could want with a PS3 that they would do with a PC, watch movies, listen to music, view pictures, surf the web, jack off to porno, play games, has a media card reader (depending on which version you get), uses standard USB 2.0 ports so you can attach a card reader, or a USB hub, or a USB HDD, attach a supported printer, etc etc.

If you want to get the best money can get and game at the highest resolutions with the best graphics possible, and you have the knowledge and money to burn, sure go ahead and build a PC. Otherwise, a PS3 would suit your needs just fine, and you won't have to worry about upgrading for another 5 years or so.

To be honest until recentlay gettign a wii my last console was a sega genesus, as you know something a PC game can easily have MORE then a console tho these days console winning out. for some games I will say console better but things like first person shooters pc whoopes them end of story. the little control pads and sticks for colsole just can't complete with a mosue for accuracy and such.

Here is what it comes down to, what kind of a gamer are you, I am a online kind of gamer, who enjoys modes and such in games, ok PC. If you like to play the games offline, or some online and don't mod games then console more you.
