I'm using the 1802 bios. I had an idiot moment though. I didnt clear my cmos before swapping the processors. Needless to say the 9850 didnt like the voltage my 5000be was running at. Thankfully nothing fried. Bumped the voltage down and everything was fine.

thats preety impressive considering how people are expecting the chip to play. id say 3 ghz is well possible.and beyond keeps us all update , i may have a core 2 but am always interested in what the other camp is offering.

Currently running 14x205@ 1.23v (had it running at 3.1 for a while but temps skyrocketed). I'm not pushing it further until I to figure out a heat issue. Bios and the asus probe report 50-52 degrees celsius for a temperature when I'm browsing the internet. I reapplied artic silver to my heat sink and reseated it. I'm not sure if this should be considered normal for the chip or not. My old 5000be ran high 40's when fully loaded, so I'm not quite sure where to look next.

Answer to my own question:

http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?op...6554&Itemid=40

Apparently they run hot anyways. Don't think I'll make the jump to water cooling, but I think 2.9 or 3.0 is where i will end up.

I had a similar issue with my old 5000be, temps were high for a day or two then it settled down...hoping this does the same.

Backed off to stock clock to figure out the heat issue. Fully loaded it's sitting at 50 degrees celsius. I think I might need to reconsider water cooling.

Buck, I would blame the 125W TDP. Still a very nice overclock in my opinion.

Great job +1
