Black Edition 9850 Owners Club - Page 47

Well, I ended up buying the DFI LP UT 790FX-M2R. It should be here by the end of the week. Also ordered a new top for my Danger Den RBX water block to fit the AM2+. Can't wait to see what this thing can do. Also I picked up a second HD 3870 X2 for quad crossfire.

Nice. I will be very curious to see if you can get the FSB past 240 with the UT.

So I then went to Zalmans website here they had detailed installation instructions unlike the chezzy thing that came with it. When I saw them say S-bracket i realized that it could slip between the heatpipes, the lights turned on then.

So now my temps, they did drop, ~1C idle, ~4 load at 2.7ghz, 1.225V. I can't wait to see where they go after the AS5 has set in. Just did stress test, idle not is about 43C, and 54C load, room temp is up a bit from last post at 26C.

Now I'll see what kind of overclock I can get

I love you like a brother. I just turned mine and OCed to 2.94G, I'm at 40C idle and 55 Load with Prime95 after 5 min.

It looks like I have 2.8 GHz stable across all four cores, don't know what changed again, just upped the CPU multi to 14, since then I have changed a few other things and still apprears to be stable. Now I have it at 2.8, 2.9, 2.9, 2.8 and still seems stable.

I'm going to try 2.9 across all cores, if I'm fairly successful I'll try to get into Windows at 3.0, something I have not been able to do yet

I never could get in Windows at 3ghz, even upto 1.4 volts, kept freezing at the exact same spot on Vista's loading screen. I am now have a rough time getting in at 2.9, but at least 2.8 seems to finnaly be stable, at stock volts and have decent temps, I may just stay at 2.8 until AMD's 45nm's come out.

Well, I almost got into Windows at 3.0ghz The sad part is it requires more than 1.435 volts. I wasn't about to go any high especially when my idle temp was ~52 - 54C.

Looks like I am going to sit on my 2.8 stable overclock. I may try for 2.9 a little later, but I think I'll give this baby a rest for a couple days.

I'm currently in windows @ 2.91 on 1.265 volts, am i getting lucky or something? Stock cooling, idles: 43, load: 50 and TLB off. About to run some stability tests.
At 13x226 I can run Prime95 for about a half hour and then freezes.

I'm overvolting the chip by .75V already.

First off does anyone know what the max safe vcore is on these. Now on to the overclocking matter here lol. first off why are all you guys in the last couple of pages (really all I read 40-46) upping the bus speed. Just up the multiplier I'm at 15 stable at 3.0. Also if I'm right more then 2G of ram may make it so you cant go as far and like the guy that has A Data ram that stuff is not that good maybe some of the problem. well hope this help some or maybe I just got a really good chip know idea.

I'm personally raising the FSB to speed up my RAM.
