Going to 32-bit gave me ~200mhz better overclock and appeard cooler, my temps didn't rise going to 32-bit with the increased volts and speed.

Quadfire will work, I do beleive, in all flavors of Vista, 32-bit, 64-bit, Basic to Ultimate.

ohh, and after was all said and done, I'm glad I didn't screw up my raid setup I was worried that I'd have to wait 3-4 hours while everything from one drive was copied to the other.

I think I'll install Vista Ultimate 32bit when I get home tonight. Hopefully I'll be cable to overclock after that. Good thing my copy of Vista came with both 32 and 64 bit versions.

It is pretty well known that the AMD Quads have trouble overclocking on 64bit windows systems (XP or Vista) I was lucky to hit 2.7GHz on mine with Vista 64 yet it runs stable at 3.0GHz on Vista 32bit and will boot and run at 3.1GHz but not stable. I currently run mine at 2.943GHz 203 X 14.5 = (DDR 1084) 5-5-5-15-30-2T Ungangled. That is where it seems to preform at its best.

Actually the K9A2 Platinum OC pretty good have you disabled speed spectrum and are you running gangled or ungangled. Which bios are you using. For me 104 is the best. I also have a DFI 790FX LanParty UT and I am able to get a better overclock out of my CPU with the MSI board.

Grandpa_01 I'll be installing Vista 32bit in the morning. Also what is the difference between ganged and unganged? Any other recommendations for settings on my motherboard?

Wait, so, not only does the DS5 not really support the 9850 but 64bit is also a culprit?

I'm beginning to wonder if I should even bother.
