Thanks for the reply.... Yes, I have ACC enabled and tried various Auto, All Cores, Per Core type combinations. Right now I need 1.36-Vcore and 1.34-nbCore just to keep it marginally stable at 2.9. I just have an OC-challenged Phenom, which is why I am gambling on a new one to improve my performance.

Did you just try +2% to get 3.0? Right now I am on auto so I have no clue what its at now.

All good ideas and I appreciate the help. However, I have tried 0, +2, +4, +6, +8 and also disabling ACC. At one point I did have 13.5*223 which worked for a while, but then I crashed and have not been able to get nearly as stable again.

We will see if this new chip is better or if I have just wasted my money. Thanks again for your help.

Have you tried just 15x200? My mobo throws up when I touch the FSB as I beleive all Phenoms do. Hey np it took me a while to get to 3.2 stable. I had 3.3 for a day and then outta no where it BSOD.

What a difference a new Phenom makes! So far nice and stable at 3.1 (ACC +2, 14.5*215, 1.36V vcore, 1.32v nbcore). This new chip is so much better. The old one with ACC +2 could barely POST and could not boot at 3.0GHz (stock volts), while this new chip can.

After 6 months of fighting my old Phenom, this new one is almost too easy. I am now an official OC addict. The idea that I would go out and gamble on the same chip for a few more 100 MHz seals my fate. Oh well, it was only about $174 and it is a lot of fun.

Thanks again for your ideas. In the coming days, I will push this chip some more to see what it can do!

Hmmm, with Deneb comming out soon I think buying a new 9850 would be waste of my money. I'll be waiting untill the AM3 version comes out in February.

Untill then, I sure would like to get this baby to go 3GHz.

I have put 1.45V on it using 200*15x and 1.32V on the NB. Tt passed 30min OCCT stabillity test.
But then I wanted to open AOD and it crashed
I give up, I can't get it stable at all.

Also, when putting 2.0V on the RAM, AOD still says 1.8V

Oh, I plan on getting a Deneb also. However, the current pricing for the 9850's is a real bargain, and I always felt like my system was not performing like it should. I will probably wait until this time next year for Deneb. That way the pricing will be down some and the bugs will hopefully be worked out.
