Yeah Kuntz, that what I thought too. What's your VCore set to CAHOP240 ?
You also did not mention what RAM sticks you're using @ what voltage. Try to set your RAM to 800MHz and overclock by using the Clock MP first to leave your RAM, NB and HT at the default values.
Upgrading to a 9950 won't do you any good, I would save my money for either new RAM or the new Deneb CPU's.

@HondaGuy: Nice overclock, But I too found no significant speed increasment.

Any tips BTW to get my RAM a bit faster (timings)... VRAM - 2.24V 5-7-7-24-31 T2 535.2MHz

my Vcore is set at default at 1.3. Ive tried changing it to 1.35, 1.37, 1.4 and still the same results. I changed the timing of my memory to 5-5-5-15 then tried overclocking core 0. I got it up to 2.8 and it stayed there for maybe 5 mins, but as soon as i tried to open a window or run a bench, BSOD. Same thing for all the other cores. the voltage for my memory is set to stock (Auto). I was thinking the same thing to wait for the Denebs, but I hear they're starting in the 300 mark, and by then the 9950's would probably be alot cheaper.
I havent tried changing my memory speeds from 533 to 800 yet. Thanks for the responses guys.

Ok....tried to OC with memory speeds at 400, 533, 667, 800, and 1066 and im still coming up with the same results. Using AOD to clock so i can check the temps before each crash, and the temps are all in the 35 - 40's, and again its not under load when it crashes, just at my desktop.
The only thing I'm doing is changing the multiplier from 12.5 to 13. It will get to 2.6...stay there for a few minutes, then crash with the BSOD error message "A clock interrupt was not recieved....etc"
You can add full details of your system in the User CP...
Anyway, Did you set ACC to auto in the BIOS?
I can't imagine that a 9850 can't even clock 2.6GHz.

EDIT: what kind of cooler are you using?

Lol, I was thinking the same thing. I would figure 2.6 would be a breeze for this chip to get with this motherboard. I'm using a Silverstone Nitrogen Heat sink with a 120mm fan on top blowing air onto the fins.

I see you are running Vista 64. From what I have read, OCing does not work very well in Vista 64. Maybe that's the problem. Nontheless, Getting not even a 100MHz OC in Vista64 doesn't seem right.

Ok, some interesting results. I took the CMOS out and reset the bios. changed the multiplier to 13 then booted into windows. It ran for about 5mins then BSOD'd on me. Intead of changing back to normal i kept the settings the same and booted into widows again. system is still running at 2.6, just ran the Far Cry 2 bench and it didnt restart on me yet. Temps are around 44C. So right now its running at 2.6...gunna try for 2.7

To test the stabillity you'd better use Prime95 or OCCT2.
For temp loggin under load, I use OCCT2, as I found out that OCCT2 stabillity testing isn't alway correct as it passes through Prime95 and not with OCCT2.
ALso, Prime95 continues it's test and will show which Core did not pass the test and failed. OCCT will jsut stop and give an error code, but no1 seems to know what they mean (correct me if I'm wrong here).

Also, try to OC in AOD. OC 1 core and do a Prime test, put it back to default and do the next core + Prime test etc etc.
By doing that I found out my first core is weak, 2.94GHz is max. Cuz of that I can not OC in my BIOS anymore, so I have to Use AOD to OC the other 3 Cores.
Still want to OC the other 3 a bit higher, but I got to find out which core is the next weak one, as my system crashes at 3200...

2.7 was a no go. Back down to 2.6. When trying to get to 2.7 it will boot all the way up until right before the Windows logo with all the fancy aura lights behind it comes up. I used the BIOS to get to 2.6 btw. I'll try what you said about using AOD and prime. Hopefully i can narrow this thing down to one faulty core. Vcore is set at 1.312 for right now, memory is at 5-5-5-15 2.1V
post #800 of 941
OCCT tells you what core failed, read the readme.txt that comes with it. It creates 1 text file for each core in its install dir and puts info on them based on what error has occured.
