Tommorrow I get my new motherboard, the Asus M3A79-T deluxe.

I took the numbers off my 9850 BE, and here they are.

HD9852XAJ4BGH
JAAFB AA 0811FPBW
9539714D80311

Based on that, do I have a good batch?
Also, do you think I'll be able to get to at least 3.0 with that board?

Lately I've been trying to do some cable management in my case. Too bad there's no compartments... I have to shove them behind the HD cage :/.

Just built a new system with this chip.

I was playing a bit adjusting the mutiplier to get me to 2.9 gig but the system was unstable so I am still adjusting.

Motherboard isnt the issue.

I am still with the stock cooler so temperature holds me back. Any higher and the cores hit 61 degrees so I had to back it off.

Question, am I better off with overclocking the bus speed or the multiplier?

I can get to 2.9 gig with the multiplier up, leaving bus speed at 200

Or I can get to 2.81 with the bus speed up leaving the multiplier.

Today I just put together my new rig

Foxconn Destroyer mobo

9850 Black edition

TRUE Extreme

Mushkin pc-8500

PC Power and Cooling Silencer 750W

I just got done lapping the true, and am going to do the CPU later tonight... I plan to do a review Later on as well.

When i put everything together to make sure it worked...Using the Stock Phenom Heatsink I reached 3.2ghz very easily.....I think I have another good build.
