Modular / Hiper PSU's, Find Me One? - Page 2

I've had my 580w type R blue for over a year now, never had a problem with it, fans are quiet and it stays relatively cool.

It is a ok PSU but it has different models so I don't know which one is referred to. Get a Corsair 550vx or 520HX for modular cabling.

Turns out the one i was looking at on eBay is a non-modular version.. don't really know how i got my wires crossed (geddit??).

Hmm.. I still desire a modular, quiet PSU though.. Preferably for the cheap.

£63 for the HX 520 is a little too much i do declare.

I bought my Antec Neopower 550w modular power supply off newegg for 75 dollars, it is great over 80% efficiency and can actually go up to 650 watts, if you can, try looking for one of these. Also this power supply is so quiet, I thought it wasn't working.

This review made me buy it http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/361

You get what you pay for. Buy a cheap PSU and it could end up costing you more in the long run.

I don't actually need one per sé, i was just toying with the idea seeing as i have a new motherboard coming, and i'm on the brink of buying a sound card (and my case isn't all that cable-hide friendly..

What's anyone reckon i'd get for my CoolerMaster iGreen 600? (about a year old, never had any problems with it...)

Ok so i currently have This - CM iGreen 600 and i'm seriously thinking of swapping it out for a modular number, thinking about This - CM RealPower 520M which here is £60 or so, and at the very reaches of my budget, just below the HX520..

So guys and gals, can y'all recommend me something modular and reliable, for my current system (taking into account an eventual upgrade of a soundcard and an 88GT), which i'm guessing wont need much more than 500/600w of power... Preferably around the £50 / $100 mark, as close to as possible.

Danke.

Edit - Tis One?

Well it seems you've limited yourself in price, but if you're willing to spend the money, go with an ABS Tagan 900W. Best PSU I have ever used in my life. 4 direct-connection SATA ports, 2 PCI-E, and 2 PCI. And that's ON TOP of your basic connections.

Quiet, effective, and very snazzy looking. It also comes with a Turbo mode that I won't bother to explain here but which is extremely awesome.

Only deterrent I see would be the price. I got mine for about $200 after all sales and rebates. I believe it's originally at $260-275. However, if you're willing to spend the money, by all that is holy, go for it.

I'm pretty sure i'm never ever going to need 900w of power somehow..

Anyways, i've decided, by buying an 8800GT and an Xtreme Music, not to swap my PSU over... Mine's just gonna have to do.

Cheers for all the suggestions though. PSU will be next.
