I've never gone wrong with ASUS boards. I'd check out the M3N78-EH, that is - if you wanna stick with ASUS.

Anyone know if a Zalman 9700 CPU HSF will work with the Phenom?

I get mine tomorrow. The new BIOS (1002) came out for the Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe just came out like last week... I all ready have it set and ready to go. I'll recieve my 9850 tomorrow. I have seen people getting theres to 3.5ghz.

Right now im running my Phenom 9600 Black Edition... Can't wait till next week though... Release of the new drivers for my HD3870X2 to work in crossfire properly.

The new BIOS of Asus M3A32-MVP will definitely improve overclocking capability... it also solved my WiFi related probs....

I'm running an X2 6400 BE, and it's nice, but I'm definitely looking forward to my 9850 BE.

The question is, are those people getting it to 3.5 on stock cooling, air, or water? **something to check in to**

I have the same set up and I love it, but Im waiting for the quad fx chip due out in August.. also there is word around that AMD is going to upgrade the phenom chipset and really drive intel up the wall again.. but it is just hear say.

Hmmm, well might have to upg again if/when the FX chips come out (depending on the cost). I love every chance AMD gets to drive Intel up a wall

Darkvette, whats your temps with that Zalman 9700 and Phenom 9850? Im trying to pick out a good cooler as the one I'm currently using is giving me idle temps at ~47C. And does the Zalman 9700 fit with the cool mem pipe?

Thanks

My Zalman fits nicely with the cool mem-pipes. I do have some trouble taking out RAM with the Zalman andthe cool mempipes in, but other than that it works great. My idle @ stock speed is around 26-28c, about 5c cooler than my X2 6400. OC'd to 2.8, my idle temp is around 34-36c. Load either way is around 42-44c. Not too bad, and better than my X2 6400 - which is nice.

What do you think of your Corsair RAM? I'm thinking of scrapping my GeIL RAM - it stinks. I'm thinking of either Corsair 1066 or Crucial Ballistix 1066.
