WU restarting... every time :(

Ok, so we have these super duper plan power outages (which should continue until 2011 or something even though they just increased our electricity bills by 53%) and twice now my PC was folding while I was at work and the power died and the PC well... it put off...

When I get home and restart the PC the WU gets some or other discrepancy in a file and restarts from scratch... this has happened twice now that it restarts... and with SMP deadlines I will never again be able to finish a work unit... could the restarting from scratch have anything to do with me running the -advmethods -forceasm flags... my save interval has been set too 3 minutes already...

its possible, but i couldn't tell you for sure, since i dont have any experience with those. i can tell you that when my rig would lock up, or reboot, my folding would always be saved. when i would restart fah, it would just pick up where it left off, before the lock up, or reboot.

Thx Mr Gibson... looking at the lack of responses I guess the best way to see if this is true is to run without the flags and see what happens when the power dies (and hopefully I don't loose hardware or Vista too) :-/

actually, here is something interesting. i just did a stupid thing, go figure. i was taking out an extra fan out of my sig rig and putting it in another rig that needed it more. i didnt want to shut down the rig, and loose folding time. even though it would of only been a couple of minutes, i dont shut my folding rigs down unless i have too. anyways, while i was pulling out the fan, i accidently let the live wire hit metal, and it sparked, and shut the rig down. i pulled the power plug, waited a minute or 2, and everythings fine(thank god). when i went to start up the folding again, one of the instances started all over, it rejected checkpoint. i think the power outages is your problem!
