hi guys, i have 2GB of black dragon ram (geil) and its stock settings are 800mhz at 4-4-4-12 cs4 which is what i have it running at. i have just recieved two more GB's of it because iam now runnig vista and it eats ram alive, so i ordered the exact same pair on the internet, and guess what i recieve 2GB of black dragon ram, but with 1200mhz at 5-5-5-15 now i now the mhz isnt a problem as ram runs at the slowest amount which would be 800mhz so no problem there, but what i want to know is can i change the timings without causing damage or would it be safer to send them back and get what i wanted in the first place? any help would be great, thanks.

You'll be fine, they more than likely use the same ic's and if not then underclocking the 1200MHz 5-5-5-15 to the 8800MHz 4-4-4-12 won't hurt at all.

You could try and see if the 800MHz kit you have can handle 1200Mhz at the 5-5-5-15 with a decent vdimm.
