If you own it and play it on the ps3, you obviously haven't been spoiled by the other versions (and that is sad, b/c the 360 version is only slightly better). I was so excited to buy a ps3, and it has been nothing but disappointment after disappointment. They keep promising that things will get better, I just tired of waiting. I'm selling it locally, tired of it collecting dust waiting for one decent game to come out. I say all this not with the intent of claiming the superiority of pc gaming, because I think consoles are great, especially for sports games, but man, I've bought a wii and a ps3 in the last year and both have been HUGE letdowns. Maybe I'm the only one...
I first owned COD4 on the PS3, then bought it for PC. I later sold the PS3 version (just because I dont like FPS's on a controller), but I think it's as good as the PC counterpart.

lol but now how many computers the best buy sells can actually run Vegas pro with no problem.

the Velocity Micros in store start at 1099.99 for a Dual core AMD. There is a Quad core Phenom HP with a 8500GT that starts at about 850 i believe which is on sale this week for 899.99 with a 19" monitor and printer. Then there are tri-core hp phenoms the HP a6430f that starts at about 650 to 750.

now these are prices are just for the towers. Yes we know you can build one for less. But the average computer shopper dreads when the words you, build, and computer are in the same sentence. You guys have to keep the average consumer in mind when it comes to computers. It's easy for us to say " sure you can build something better for less", but these people aren't going to take the time to open a book to learn how to build one let alone actually do it. If you have been in retail sales of computers, you will learn exactly how cheap people can be.

Alright, so stunting a growth of another platform is okay because it's not a PC? And the exact reason you hate it going to consoles is because of what exactly? How does this affect you being that it’s on a console and not a PC? Scared that a game you are looking forward to may only be produced on console? Are you afraid that someone who is a PC gamer will have fun with nice graphics on a console?

Seriously, some people need to grow up with this whole console hate thing. Just because the platform doesn't offer what you like gives no reason to hate it. Cell phones are starting (already started, N-gage) to become gaming devices. I don't see anyone complain about the iPhone getting Quake or anything.

Sure consoles are not as high tech and versatile as a PC, but they are just as fun. Gaming has nothing to do with whether it can produce the best graphics or not. Gaming is about having fun regardless of how pretty the picture on the screen looks. It seems as though many on this forum when it comes to gaming worry more about graphics then actual game play. Game play is what matters most people.

"OMG consoles are so low tech, I don't see how you can play games on them, why spend X dollars when you can build a PC for X dollars to do more..." and the list continues.

Let console gamers have their moment of fun. Why do you feel the need to ruin something good in terms of advancement? I have a gaming rig and I have a console. First and foremost for me in particular (this does not apply to everyone) I will be a console gamer because I find it fun. I find console gaming more fun than PC gaming. At first I didn't care for PC gaming because it was costly, time consuming in terms of compatibility and the fact that it is not as portable as a console. But having the resources to do PC gaming, I can do it. Even though using a mouse and keyboard hurts my wrists, I still have fun doing it. Many people on here forget that it's important to have fun when gaming, not see if you have the best rig. Granted that yes this is OCN and the main purpose of the forum is about over clocking, that isn't what gaming is about. Believe it or not, consoles have advantages that PCs never will have and vice versa.

They are two different worlds yes, but they both have a common goal and that is to let people have fun. But it is not fair to bash someone else’s good clean fun.

You made that post unnecessarily long. I didn't say that because PCs are superior or any of that crap. I said it because PC doesn't have many good exclusives and I was hoping it would stay PC. Thats why.

Plus just because your preference of gaming doesn't have what you like doesn't mean you should hate on something else that has it. Granted thats your personal opinion, but it should at least give a good reason why to hate something. Hating a console for getting something is like kid hating another kid cause he got a toy the other didn't.

I'm assuming you didn't play online if you think it's as good as the pc. The completely terrible UI for multiplayer combined with the annoying bluetooth kiddies yelling at their sisters combined with older guys who were completely unaware that their headset was WAYYYY too sensitive to the point of a cough sounding like a nuclear bomb dropped in my ear (unless of course I turned it so low i couldn't hear anything rendering voice comms completely pointless) combined with random server crashes combined with pretty substantial frame drops in heavy action sequences combined with... k I'm tired of thinking of stuff I didn't like about it. Just to confirm it wasn't me I went online and google about exploded when I ran a search. Maybe they released a patch or something since then, but when i played it it was unacceptable. I remember it taking up to 10 minutes to find games at some points. It's a great game, and the ps3 has limitless potential, but the ps3 port was just bad IMO.

Why are we comparison a single console unit, to a full computer??? Has
everyone forgot that a console still requires a television, and all the goodies
that come with it?

Lets do a fair comparision... Lets assume that a Canadian average joe goes
into an electronic store (for this comparison, lets assume this store is called
futureshop, located in Ontario.) Lets also assume that he owns a fairly
recent Computer (1-2years), and a fairly recent HDTV(1-2years)... This
person would be interested in gamming...

He could upgrade his computer with an 8800gt (XFX Alpha Dog Edition) for
$199 (Futureshop will offer to install this card, last time I checked, there was
no added fee).

Now the Xbox 360 costs by itself + one controller, $349.99, while the PS3 +
one Controller = $399.99

$199 < $399 therefor the Graphic card upgrade would cost less than the
console.

Now, lets factor in a new PC/HDTV + all the accessories needed to run each.
Looking at futureshop, a gamming PC with an 8800gt + QuadCore (9600
phenom) + 3gb ram + 500gb HD costs for $1099 (Gateway FX7020)... This
price includes keyboard/mouse/speakers. Now lets factor in the monitor... 24
" Monitor (1920x1200) go for $429.95 at the same store. Factor in 10 games (
$40 x 10)... so about $400 on games... don't forget the cable for the
monitor... 2m DVI Male to Male... $51.99

$1099 - Computer
$429.95 - 24" Monitor
$400 - 10 Games
$51.99 - Monitor Cable
----------------------
$1980.94

Consoles require a console (lets assume an Xbox360, the cheaper of the 2
systems) starting at $349.99. an HDTV with 1080p (1920x1080) Sharp Aquos
32" TV at $1099... a 2m HDMI cable goes for $179.99. 10 games ($60 each)
goes for $600

$349.99 - Console
$1099 - HDTV
$600 - 10 Games
$179.99 - HDMI Cable
---------------------
$2228.98

$1980.94 < $2228.98

Come to your own conclusion... I think the results speak for themselves.
sorry for the long post

Please note: We are talking about the average consumer! This post is
to prove that a gamming computer is cheaper than a console, and is
available to the average consumer in a consumer friendly manner.

Now can we get back on topic, instead of not giving proof that
gamming on a console is cheaper than gamming on a computer

What do you mean I didn't? I'm saying the reason I said I hate that this is coming to consoles is because the PC doesn't have many good exclusives. That IS the reason. I'm not hating on the consoles, if you've read ANY of my other console posts you'd know I defend all 3 of them the best I can.
