What do I get?

Hello everyone,

I have been considering going water cooling just because im tired or dealing with dust.

I live in an old house.. built 1880.. and there is alot of dust. Im trying to find a water cooling setup that is idea for the system listed in my sig below. This will be my first WC setup and I plan on doing nboth the CPU and the GPU.

My understanding is that I should set this up to run from the radiatior to the CPU than to the GPU.. or possibly set them on seperate loops..??

The 8800GT seems to runa tad hot to begin with so im wondering if looping from the CPU to the GPU is even a good idea??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.. same goes for tips on doing this properly. I have never touched a WC setup before so I am a complete noob in this most basic sense of the word

There are a couple of good guides here on OCN.

For parts:
cpu block: D-tek fuzion
gpu block: Swiftech MCRW-60 and ramsinks
radiator: Black Ice 360GTS
reservoir: Swiftech Micro-res
pump: Swiftech MCP-655 vario
tubing: 1/2" Tygon or 7/16" Masterkleer.

I think you'd be fine with a single loop providing you have a strong enough radiator. The GT runs hot because the stock cooler is crap, BTW. And you want your loop order to be radiator -> cpu -> gpu -> reservoir -> pump -> radiator -> etc.

2 Loops isn't neccesary unless you have/get a small Radiator. I would go with a 360 (120x3) or 480 (120x4) type Radiator.

With either size you should be good.

Yeah thats the GTS, if you can afford it I would go for a GTX, its not as restrictive and will cool a little better...GTX360..I'd use at least this size fans on any rad....Shrouds will help some also...

Here's some good stuff to read, be sure to read all the stickies here also, theres a lot of good info in them...I'll leave you my cleaning and set up PDF to...Do a little research now and it might save you a little time and $$$ on down the road...

you can go to http://www.hwlabs.com/ and click under products and see for yourself, The GTX are the Extreme while the GTS are the Stealth. Just read up, and decide then go to dangerden.com, or your choose distributor and buy away.

While your at it buy me one too.
