Battle of the X's.

Hey fellas. Decided I would run a couple of fraps fps logs just to give myself peace of mind about my investment of the additional H3870, and to see if there was any benefit going from Crossfire to CrossfireX. Here is a starter of the games I play and I'll slowly be adding more, other than crysis. If there is a game you would like me to run I will try my best to obtain the game and to do a log. I did run the log with Gears of War, but since that game is capped at 62fps anyways, I logged the same results for both the single X2 and Tri-fire.

Just let me know what game you want me to run, other than crysis. I refuse to contribute to that piece of trash. In fact I refuse to even capitalize the first letter on that game.

Also to note on the Dirt test - I had already logged a 1440x900 resolution test so I decided just to complete it. I will be doing a 1680x1050 run here later on, possibly today. Also I had to lower Shadows to High from Ultra due to a shadow bug that locked up the entire game using a single X2.

Half life 2 Lost Coast involved the Video stress test, and I'm going to migrate my results from the CSS video stress test I posted earlier.

Another note on all Tests - I use no driver level adjustments other than mipmaps @ high quality so all AA/AF settings are in game adjustments.

Half life 2 Lost Coast @ 1680x1050 All Settings Maxed
-----------------------------------------------------
Single X2 - 238.56 Avg.

Tri-Fire - 269.04 Avg.

================================================== ===

Call of Duty 4 @ 1680x1050 All Settings Maxed (MP Map Overgrown)
-----------------------------------------------------
Single X2 - Avg: 79.766 - Min: 44 - Max: 133

Tri-Fire - Avg: 148.814 - Min: 99 - Max: 253

Tri-Fire - Avg: 97.792 - Min: 81 - Max: 109

Great results. Would you mind posting results for running those tests at 1024x768 please? I want to see what it does at a lower resolution. +rep

Lol... the first thing I thought was "where the hell is CRYSIS"... then I re-read your comment on the game... would still be a great way to see if there is a major improvement (there is a benchmark tool specific for it that works with the demo so you don't need to own the piece of $^$#$&&$%#%^!!)

1024 x 768 results on Dirt -

Single X2 - Avg: 83.674 - Min: 70 - Max: 94
Tri-Fire - Avg: 97.540 - Min: 82 - Max: 122

1680 x 1050 results on Dirt -

Single X2 - Avg: 57.340 - Min: 48 - Max: 62
Tri-Fire - Avg: 85.772 - Min: 71 - Max: 94

By these results Tri-Fire outperforms a Single X2 when the X2 can run at a much lower 1024x768 as opposed to the Tri-Fire 1680x1050 environment.

Man, that 4.3GHz is enormous. My puny 3.15 can only muster <140FPS on both 1920x1200 AND 1680x1050

EDIT: HL2: lost coast 137fps on 1680x1050 maxed and 132fps on 1920x1050 maxed.

Nice frame rates! especially at 1920x1200! Do you have XP to run that test in? If you do I will gladly run the HL2 LC and CSS test in XP.
