Upgrade motherboard?

Hey guys i currently have the M2A-VM mATX motherboard and everything has worked well. I'm just in the ballpark for a more up to date one now. I see alot have the M2N-SLI Deluxe. Would this be an improvement for me? More options? I will probably be staying with my new BE 5000+ for about another year at least. Suggestions?

Are you looking to sli or crossfire or stick with onboard? Unless you water cool the BE wont go much past 3.2-3.3. It doesnt seem too worth it considering you have a free pcie slot already.

I have the m2n32-sli premium vista edition. Its a pretty wicked board with loads of passive cooling, plus a fan which you can mount in different spots to keep the chipset cool. SLI ready, 7Sata + 1Esata, optical audio out, plus the screenduo to monitor temps, manage email, play music, just about anything. Its great. Its got a remote control which can be used to boot up the system from cold start.. Its got loads of toys. I recommend it.

The M2N-SLI is a far cry from the M2N32-SLI, not relevant really.

@ OP the M2N-SLI should serve you fine paired with a X2 5000+ BE as there is little need to increase the HTT greatly.

Having said that it seems to me that the issue does not lie with your mobo but rather than the very few settings required to get your BE where you want it being off a bit.

Keep in mind that just b/c some get their X2 5000+ BE's to point X does not mean yours will reach that. An unlocked multi does not guarantee a great overclock.

I just bought both boards in a single order, the price difference was $60 CAD. Not exactly what I would call a far cry, but ok.

And as for relevant, he asked an opinion, and I went one farther. Upgrading his board from current to the m2n-sli deluxe as you said wont really get him any farther, so I suggested a board which MAY. Sorry if my suggestion happened to offend you.
