id ditch the e8400 for the q6600 because its only ~$30 more and its a quad core, new games comming out and new software will be able to utilize the other two cores and it can waste the e8400's clock with a mild oc. if your going air id get the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme and lap it. that'll handle the q6600 for at least a 3ghz oc but you could probably go up to 3.3-3.5ghz. other than that sounds like a pretty solid setup. almost said something about the case until i seen it came with a 500w psu. not to bad of a deal.
Q6600 G0 stepping (pic shows slacr that and all the new q6600's they make are g0 im pretty sure) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115018
just found basically same ram but cheaper

Nice find on the picture. Do wonder why this one is more: http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16819115017

when it isn't even a guaranteed G0 (though is that one guaranteed due to the picture? Hope so.)

Thanks
Is the case alright? It was between that and a P182.
Then I would add a Silencer610 but the Antec case looked easier to work with.

Do you need the silence of the antec sonata III? Because if not, there are definately better cases to be had for the price. I got one for my moms computer (she wanted the silence) and its nice...in a plain kind of way. Definately not much in the way of either circulation or roomyness.

*edit
You posted while I was writing this.

GO WITH THE P182. Its such a better case.

Dual Core is better For gaming for Now... Quad Core is Future proof and if the new games dont use multiple cores as everyone is expecting you could sell it and get the E8400

I'd put http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136161 in raid 0. Just realized you've already got that set up. Why not keep that?
Ive worked with that case before and its a bit on the small side. Id suggest the cm690 and a corsair 520.

Looks good. I like the P182 but liked you said, need a PSU.

id email or call newegg before ordering the one with the picture since nowhere does it say that its guaranteed the pic is the one you'll get. im half assuming since they don't make b3 stepping anymore. future games will be relying on a core to run physics. pretty sure crysis is an example of that currently (to some degree) but from reading about physics cards the market is doing away with the cards in favor of using one of the many cores. a lot of programs that do encoding or rendering already take advantage of more cores (think burning dvds)

I'm going with the e8400 myself.
I think it's close, between it and the q6600, but decided on leaving the quad be for a while. Motherboards that take Core 2 can take either duo or quad no prob (as far as I know), so if I want to upgrade down the road (when games are using these quads) it will be easy, and I will be able to get something cheaper/faster than the q6600 whatever that might be some day.

As for the case, what? It comes with an Earthwatts 500W? Cool. Didn't know they put decent PSUs in cases like that.
