Dying monitor?

so i have a 15'' lcd,2.5 years old and now i find it blacking out after long periods of inactivity or if it goes into the sleep mode.What happens is that it comes on briefly for a second before blacking out to the point that i can hardly see a thing.I have to turn it off and on a number of times before it comes back on. whats wrong?

I think it's dying sorry im not sure what the exact problem is or if its worth fixing it. I've had this happen to me a few times before, but not with an LCD. So dont take what i say to heart, but it doesnt sound good

sounds like the backlight is on its way out. You can pick up new backlights and inverters fairly cheap. Just google it.

Or maybe its not dying and its gna be cheap to fix and we'll all be happy
