You never said anything about the Intel Atom processor? The Atom processor isn't even being used as a desktop/server chip so theres no point in comparing it to a server/desktop processor. Why would anyone compare a processor that cost's $8 to make to a AMD desktop quad core anyways. From your post it sounded like you were talking about Intel's processor's in general.

The truth of the matter is that AMD is doing exactly what I said though, they talk about stuff that they want to do but they do a half crapped job on it or they release it two years down the road and it has a load of problems. I mean whats the point of going 45nm and making octo cores right away when they haven't even done a good job on 65nm yet? The best thing that they could do is release a brand new architecture that can actually compare to what Intel is about to release instead of using the low performance one they have right now.

I did read the first page, the article and your quote mention nothing of the Intel Atom processor. Check my sig if you think that i'm an Intel fanboy. I go with whoever offers the best performance, being a fanboy of any company is retarded since all that they care about is your money and being on top.

no, you clearly didn't read the first page of posts if you missed ALL of this

What happens when you slap 30 80 watt core's? yea, hot hot hot.

Developing a low power single core component that draws 3 watts (I think that is around the max it draws) and slap 30 of those cores on a CPU, and you have a 30 core, 90 watt piece compared with 2400 watt part.

Article about it here

Looks like Intel learned, they are working very hard on low-power parts, and (for this cycle at least) AMD is the one making hot slower parts.

And don't give me that BS line "I'm not a fanboy because I have an AMD proc", I guarantee you you were one of those little kiddies screaming "Intel Sucks!" when AMD was on top.

You never said ANYTHING about the Intel Atom processor in the post that I quoted of you so your point is irrelevant.

wow, aren't they the visionaries

honestly, who was naive enough to believe there WOULDN'T be 16-core processors someday?

lol apparently I have to outright say "Intel Atom Processor" to be talking about it now?

I said:

Sure, intel can throw 30 zerg procs onto one chip, but when each proc is terrible at server computing, and is less than half the speed of old AMD 64s, and can be easily beat by 16 or so real cores...
you know what I'm getting at.
in a clear reference to the intel atom server zerg strategy

Maybe this has all been a Big lesson to AMD on how to lose money. Glad they are thinking ahead. I want something better than 45nm.

Wait. This thread makes me think I'm browsing the fanboy haven known as xtreme systems. I quit posting there for a reason. <.<
