Antec 900 and intake fan filters... - Page 2

Anywhere i can get those in the UK? I suffer this problem too.
I decided to take the fan filters out to see how much dust had collected on them, and to my surprise there was quite a bit. Though I should point out that we've been doing remodeling in my room for the past month, so there's been a ton of dust flying around here.

All I did was take the filters out, open the window, and blow on those suckers.

I haven't tried dryer sheets, but I'd tend to think that they'd limit airflow much more than the fan filters I bought.

They would work VERY well at filtering out dust--but unfortunately hardly any air would get through either... I'd go with the crimped-style of filters--much more surface area to filter out the same dust=more airflow.

Unfortunately, you can't put fan filters in front of the intake fans in the 900, so you'll probably have to clean the dust off of your intake fans every once in a while. Just use two screws in the unused holes on the front fans for mounting the filters.
Hello onlycodered. I'm torn between the 900 and the 300 and the only thing that's putting me off buying the 900 is the DUST. Can I ask how these fan filters fit in. I've heard there is little room for the filters so do you screw them in or just slide them into place?

Also I'm in England so can't really get hold of the filters in mention but they look exactly the same as some AC Ryan's I've seen. They look like these

Do they look the same as yours apart from the colour.?

Thanks.

I don't mean to jump in here, but to be honest, I have had no dust problems with the antec 900 like I thought I would--and my place is pretty dusty. I think the dust problems with these cases are overrated--there is barely any dust inside the computer after about 2 months of using the case--so don't get too scared about this like I did 'cause it's really not that big of a deal. Hope you enjoy your new case! (I'd say go with the 900 if you don't mind not having great cable-management options, which doesn't bother me in the slightest!).

You could do as i did and take the drive bay covers off and cut fabric to fit each one. This way you can vacum the front of the case without removing anything, worked great for me.

Cool I might look into that. How easy is it to take the mesh off (is that what you mean)? Does it dim the LED's in the fans by any chance?

Regards.
