Opps... forgot he's Canadian, eh.

You can look at the 8800GS or HD3850 in the same range of $125USD. Spend a bit more and you have the 3870 and then the 8800GT.
Once again...

I already had an E2140 but it got only to 3.00Ghz and it was running very hotttt !

E2200 has the same scale as E2180. I tried three. One went to 3.7G (stable at 3.5G) and two settled around 3.1G. It price isn't that much different, then get E2200. Otherwise, I would go for E2180 or E2140.

OK,

Gigabyte DS3L for mobo

E2140 or E2160 or E2180 or E2200 Any of these withh be good. Keep in mind, older ones tend to OC better and all usually reach the same OC (barring some E2140's that seemed to have a FSB wall) Just because you have one that wouldn't OC well soesn't mean they are not good CPU's.

9600GT or 8800GS or HD3870 or 8800GT Since you are not running 16*10 or higher, you have no real need of a better card. if you can swing it, get the 8800GT as it is a great value.

With that budget and the fact that you are a gamer, I would suggest spending a majority of your money on a GFX card as you will get the most out of that. However, as I stated above, anything more than a 8800GT is overkill on a 19" monitor. As fas as CPU's, your budget is somewhat limited. Since most of the E2xxx's OC to the same speeds, there is no sense in getting the more expensive models. The DS3L can run FSB speeds of 450+, so there is no worries about multiplier hindering your OC. I don't see any other CPU/mobo/GFX combo fitting into $300 CAD price range unless you look used.

If my math is correct - that puts you about $310 after rebate ($350 up front). A tad over - but that puts you in a reference Nvidia board...

I don't suppose you have a Fry's Electronics up there in Canada? They are running an E6750 and a ECS 945GCT-1333 bundle for $199 (although I really hate ECS) it's not a bad deal for the E6750.

Hes Canadian, so no newegg.

edit: Also, I would stick with P35 for a single card set up. Especially since he will want to OC the heck out of whatever CPU he decides on.
