My 9800 GX2 Step-Up

Thread Starter
Well, yesterday I sent my 8800 GTS 512 to eVGA for the Step-Up to the GX2. Luckily, Brea is not to far from where I live so the UPS Ground shipping took only one night to deliver and arrived at eVGA this morning at 11 am.

Now, I'm just waiting for them to inspect the card and accessories (they said to include all discs and accessories, so I put the free Crysis game it came with in there just like it was when I got it, and all accessories are unopened. Even has the plastic film still protecting the large sticker on the heat sink housing).

What I am wondering is how long it takes for them to inspect it and to send out the GX2. I am hoping to have it installed by Friday. Since shipping is over night even with UPS Ground (which is the option I chose on their web site), would it get to me by Friday?

I already have a copy of Crysis that I bought the day it came out. I was just being cautious to avoid any hiccups.

oh yea i understand, i included all accessories except one dvi connector and they took it, be prepared for the heat! unlike your GTS blowing heat out the back this thing blows heat out the side back into the case i dont think you will get it by Friday, maybe, but unlikely i would say Monday or Tuesday.

The heat isn't an issue as my Antec P180 case has an 80mm fan duct that sits right where the edge of the video card is and is horizontally adjustable, so I can have the fan either blow cool air onto the card, or use it as exhaust (the duct takes in/blows air out of the back of the case, not the side). I usually have it as intake but because the GX2 is designed quite differently, I may have it set up as exhaust.

Nice i almost got a p180, my case unfortunatly does not have a side fan and im going to have to mod it and yes i think setting it to exhaust would be best, good luck with your new card

Oh god you're kidding me It said to include all discs and accessories so I thought the game was part of it... I never even used its CD key

Well, my original thoughts were accurate. In an earlier post I said that the UPS Ground shipping would be overnight, because I live close enough to Brea, California that the shipping is overnight. I started the Step-Up on the 7th, shipped the package to them on the 8th, it arrived to them on the 9th, and on the 10th they shipped the GX2 out. On the 11th (today, well, when I wake up that is), the package will be here

Bam Bam Bam, one process right after another in a very fast manner. I would do this again any day, if the circumstances were the same (I paid $350 for my GTS 512, which brought the grand total for the GX2 to $280, tax and shipping included )

Some elements of the screenshots have been covered for privacy. Under "Shipped" it is blank not because I have done this, but because that is how it is shown on their site, even though it looks edited and the color is even slightly darker than the other fields.
