if nvidia says a PSU is SLI certified it means that the PSU is powerful enough to run TWO cards. so your PSU is pwerful enough to run any single card out there.

as for ur next question, i dont know much about AMD but if they deliver similar performance as equally clocked intel processors then ur processor is fine for light gaming. id say upgrade ur monitor and graphics card together. even a 20" LCD wud be a huge upgrade from what u have now

Ahh you didn't understand me right. I can only buy one thing at a time. So if I get the monitor, I can't get a new card for another while.

Does anybody know if Athlon 64 X2 is good enough??

Well my main question is, is athlon x2 at 2.6/2.8ghz good enough for gaming or would it really be worth it to spend the money on a new mobo and intel core2duo/quad?

an x2 will be fine for gaming. I built a machine for a friend that does some pretty heavy gaming, and his cpu is an x2 brisbane at 2.2 and he loves it. If you want to save money, stay with your amd. You'll have less to upgrade, and simply by moving to dual core everything you do will seem better/faster. If you're going to keep that monitor for awhile anyway, I would recommend upgrading cpu first, then gfx, then montior. If you have an AM2 board, you can get a 2.1 Ghz chip for like 50 bucks on newegg.c

Thank you so very much, REP +. Well I'm thinking of going a bit more than 2.2ghz, either 2.6/2.8. However do the fans that they come with work good, or would I be fine if I get a CPU w/o fan to save money and use my old fan?
