Hmm... I don't see how someone is scammed by giving their shipping address.

I mean, I can Google a name and come up a valid address 90% of the time.

That's how I always remember who to send my rent check to each month.

So did you ever get an email?

I'm sure they already had your address, they were probably playing for a social security number or credit card number after that.

Aye. I'm sure they were really after your soc# or the verification code on your CC.

I forget but about 1 yr ago i kept getting calls on my cell Phone, It was definitely a scam idunno if i won something or what. But basically the scam was i would have to pay shipping. I forget the Number but it was wacky like 000 000 0000 123 123 4567, something crazy like that.
They tried me for like 2 weeks or a month it was the same, like a call center. I would keep them on the phone and ask them questions . Sometimes they would hang up quick. IDK, it was a while ago but sounds just like what happened to me. I forget what it was for or where they called from Def wasnt Newegg, I say its another rotten scumbag scammer

I think I had that one, they were trying mail me coupons for free Blockbuster rentals or some crap. I told them just to mail them to me and the guy was getting all pissed off at me. I kept calling them for a few days and chewing their ass out and they stopped calling.

Deff a scam, too much noise, newegg has your shipping address and such. I'd ask them a few questions before they asked me some.

Newegg has a very good customer service dept. I'd call them up and ask if they have any sweepstakes with said CPU.

But then again, 100% sure it's a scam.

Erm...

Why do so many people assume that someone has been logging your conversations in order to get this cell number?

Whenever you sign up to something and provide a cell number, it's perfectly legal (unless you opt out by ticking or unticking a box) for the company to sell on your data to a 3rd party, and some companies do it without your permission too.
