Barracuda AC-1 and Vista x64: SOLVED - Page 3

Some more information about my problem:

It's weird, because Windows Vista will show sound being outputted (like when I play a song in WMP), but nothing comes out from either my speakers nor from the HP-1 headphones. However, when I go to XP x64, it all works just fine.

I'm having a hard time getting this thing to work on my 32-bit Vista as well. I get sound from my front speakers, but the center and 2 rears don't output anything. Funny because windows can configure the 5.1 surround, but the ac-1 can't detect it. And I don't have the 'enhancements' tab in the speaker option, so I can't select 'speaker fill'.

I did a metric crapton of digging and was able to find 2.20b and 2.22c. Both of these versions work; 2.22c is just newer. I was even able to get Razer's custom program to work with the older drivers (which has a way better interface than you'll get with 2.22c).

2.22c
2.20b
Note that these versions should work fine for Vista x64. The newest version on Razer's website is what you should use for XP x64, as it is newer and it works well with XP 64-bit.

Do try the other mirrors, too - I got a really slow speed from the first, and an awesome one from the second.

I assume Razer will eventually make a good version of their own drivers for Vista x64, but until then, 2.22c seems to function just fine.

Good luck.

Thread Starter
I still have my 2.22b tucked away on my system. The file is 41MB and if someone could kindly show me a way to share it, I'd be willing to get it to whoever needs it.

EDIT: In case I lost track of this thread, PM me if I haven't responded.

Any difference in sound?

Also do I need to remove my older drivers or can I just install these.

EDIT: Installed them, they work great. So glad they are finally signed.
