Australian OFLC Censorship Petition

Sorry if this does not belong here, I was unsure whether to put it here or in the PlayStation section..it is news in that there is a new petition up. Its not news in the true sense, in that the petition is my own. Please move it to the appropriate section if I have done the wrong thing.

To: Australian OFLC

We strongly urge that you adopt an R18+ rating into the video game classification system here in Australia, to not only comply with the media standards of all industries, but to also comply with those of the rest of the world.

For years we have been forced to receive video games with either removed or censored/edited content, or the games themselves have had a total ban. The latest in particular is the soon to be released and highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto IV from Rockstar Games. This will be their fourth title since Grand Theft Auto III that has been edited and censored to comply with Australian OFLC Rating on video games, and it needs to stop.

We feel that an R18+ rating is reasonable for video games with today's in-game content, and would be sufficient in controlling the market by providing a strict mature target audience, therefore allowing for us 'Aussies' to get the full, unedited video game experience we should be getting, which we deserve to get.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

Australian OFLC Needs R18+ on Video Games

Help us out down under, Rockstar themselves asks that we Aussies attempt to take action. I say why the hell not?

I'm pretty sure it invalidates what you're trying to achieve if you have people from all over the world signing it.

OT I lived in mount hawthorne for a short while.

nah not really, its not an AUSSIES ONLY thing. if the whole world speaks, it will sound louder. especially since australia is singled out in this matter. the big guys are stickin up for us down under.

OT: no ****? like, mt hawthorn, perth western australia? or the hawthorn in victoria.
