i'm not familiar with that model number, how old is it? sometimes my router crashes like that but i just unplug it and then plug it back in and it works fine and doesn't erase all my settings.

Thats an issue with the linksys firmware. If you read any customer reviews on linksys routers you will see lots of people complaining about the same thing. Your model also seems to suffer when you have lots of traffic running across it..

The only reason linksys is a big name is because of the WRT54-G series that was built on linux. The WRT54-GL flashed with DD-WRT or Tomato is one of the best things you can get as a consumer router.

I had that issue with that router on Static so I went back to DHCP lol. I know have the WRT54GS with DD-WRT and it OWNS. I really reccomend it.
