Honestly, I more games will still run better on 2x4.2GHz than 4x3.6GHz a year from now. Dual core appeared 3? yrs ago and we still only see a trickle of games that support it. In most cases of those, they don't even fully utilize the 2nd core. There are a few expections like SupCom but those are the minority.

I don't expect programmers to paradigm shift to multicore development for at least 3 more years.

Well... I got the stuff. Going to assemble it now

I ended up with :
E8400
Gigabyte P35 DS3L
2x 2GB OCZ 800s (The reapers were 2x the $ and only 1GB each)
a Gigabyte 8800GT
Coolmaster Hyper 212 cooler. (TRUE or Tuniq not available here)
Will get a power supply of some sort if the old one don't work.
Now the fun of building!
