Hibernate is GONE!

I've got a significant problem - the option to hibernate on my laptop is completely gone. I've gone through the instructions in the Vista help file to enable it, and the options just aren't there.

The strange part is I've been using hibernate for a year or so on this laptop with Vista no problems, but now it's just gone! And I've got plenty of hard drive space for it too... 7.5gb free, and only 2gb ram in my laptop.

Anyone have ANY idea what could be going on? I don't have the power-saving hybrid sleep option either, so I have to use regular sleep, which drains ~10% of my battery overnight.

EDIT: Nevermind, just found the answer. Shoulda googled it before posting here, rather than the other way around... here's the answer:

Yes, if you delete the Hibernation file with Disk Cleanup,
it disables Hibernation.

Type this "powercfg -h on" into the Start Menu's search
bar, hit enter. I am using Vista without UAC on, so you
may have to right click on the search result and select
"Run as Administrator".

Make sure your power profile is NOT set to ''Always on'' if it is then you will not have hibernate as a functional option.
