Um don't use ORTHOS since ur using a Quad Core and it only stresses 2 cores. Use Prime 95 Small FFTs the danger zone of temps is currently 70 + C and the max is 82 C I think for a Q6600. PRime 95 CLIICK ME

I got back to this post as soon as I could...
Here are the specs for the Q6600 (notice the thermal limit is 71°C):

So just keep it under that when running prime95. You can try to push the CPU farther without adding vcore until it becomes unstable. The heat is almost directly related to the vcore, so as long as you dont add any, you are ok to go higher.

BTW, what is your VID reported as in CoreTemp?

I need some help overclocking my new Q6600 GO on my EVGA 780i motherboard....I would like to get up to 3.0 -3.4GHz if possible. I'm also needing to overclock my memory to get that where it needs to be in order to overclock the CPU effectively but I'm not really for sure how the bios options work. Do mem timings need to change they are 5-5-5-15 is my poower supply just not powerful enough? 1066 oz Sli

thing just crashes

you're gonna want to make a new post.

As for the OP, if you're stable at 3.6, I say increase the CPU to 1.45 if your temps are below 70 degrees and shoot for 3.8-4.0.

1.45 volts is still below the maximum voltage specified by Intel, and some people have been running theirs at 1.55 for over a year.

I wouldn't expect much more out of your RAM, 1120 is really high.
