if ya have warranty, he could send em to u and u send him the repaired/renewed ones.
If he's got a pic and proof, i'd give him a 35% refund.

eBay don't take a good view on that - I've seen them award to the buyer even when it's been clearly stated there was no return policy.

You can't unlink your bank account until 30 days after your last transaction.

Also, this is why I avoid eBay.

My first thoughts, I used to deal on e-bay a lot after several high end things ended up coming back to me broken, I started taking a pen with ink that only shows up under UV light and write my initials on the item somewhere safe, and take a picture of the placement of the initials on the item. So if anything arose and they wanted a refund (no shipping insurance) I'd offer to take it back, check for the initials, if not, Id file a complaint. And usually try to scare them with filing a "mail fraud" lawsuit...sometimes it would work...sometimes they were smart enough to ignore my emails.

TBH, the only thing you can do in your situation is tell him to "piss off" if you sold them as-is. Refund his money AFTER he send the item back, offer to cover any charges to have them repaired.

Did not know that.

OK stall for 30 days and then unlink it. If he starts whining to ebay they are gonna freeze your account.

People like you are why I don't use ebay. As the seller, it is your responsibility to insure that the product reaches it's destination safely, or if it doesn't to refund the buyer.

Unlinking your paypal account to avoid having to pay a refund would be very illegal.

Buyers like the one this guy is having to deal with is why I dont sell stuff on ebay. Ebay doesnt respect the sellers no return policy. As a result the seller gets screwed becuase of the scamming buyer.

Offering the receipt and having him work with super.fi sounds like the best route. Reiterate to him that they were sold as-is and in working condition when you shipped them. Anything after the transaction is done is between him and the manufacturer.

Random broken as-is eBay anecdote:

Before I built my current rig, I had an old AMD rig with a Barton 2000+. I found a used Barton 2500+ CPU on ebay for about $40 so I went ahead and bought it. The CPU was sold as-is and arrived DOA - it wouldn't even post.

So, I emailed the seller and he reminded me that I took the risk by buying an untested as-is CPU. But he said that he was sorry I received a DOA one and offered me a 10% refund. That seemed fair to me because, after all, I did buy it as-is and a 10% refund was above and beyond. Maybe I'm just a nice, responsible guy....but when you buy something as-is, you take that risk.
