X1900XT Flash to X1900XTX w/ 1.2ns memory?

I've spent like a whole night reading up on flashing the XT to an XTX.
And yes i know it's better to OC than to flash.

I've also come across this guy on this forum saying he has an XT with the 1.2 ns vram, and he flashed his to an XTX, but with temp moniroting problems or something.

The guy here did it

Now i'm asking, is it possible?
Because i was one of the unlucky ones and got an XT with the 1.2ns Infinetion mem chips. (horrible, i know)

There are 2 Toxic XTX bioses here

One says Samsung 1.1ns, and the other, would it be a 1.2ns bios?

most bioses can be edited to change the mem speed manually (to 1.2ns timing, 700mhz i think?) and you can then flash that bios.

Rereading his post, he said that his memory is at 800Mhz (vs 792Mhz max with XT bios and CCC's OD) which is rated for 1.2mhz.

And the core clock is 675 at stock voltage.

That's the thing.

I dont know what's rated for 1.2ns chips.

If he says he's running it perfectly with Toxic's XTX bios modded with 800mhz ram, and 675mhz core...

And looking at toxic's xtx bios, it is 806mhz ram, and 675mhz core.

Edit: I just googled up x1900xt 1.2ns speeds, and apperernlty 800mhz IS the speed for 1.2ns memory chips

http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=...e+Search&meta=

To be more precise,
http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/video/cf2.html
Look at the memory chip if you scroll down, you'll see they said 1.2ns corresponds to 800mhz

Hmmm....

I even have my card clocked at 688/873 core and mem respectively.

So if modding the xtx bios to 800mhz, the card should turn on and work properly right?

But the question is, the toxic's bios is at 806mhz, and i should modify the ram to be 800mhz.

Does the 6mhz really makes a difference if yoru card works properly after the flash or not?

well if you can run your ram at 873 i think the extra 6mhz dont really matter

But it's when the card boots up it runs at stock speeds.

Then when it gets to windows ATI Tray Tools auto overclocks it for me.

just use ati tool to run the card at the toxics core and mem speed then test/bench. if yo uflash the bios you may have to use RaBit or something like to adjust the mem timings to suit your particular ram on the card

I actually saw the guy's signature
http://www.overclock.net/ati/294542-...r-x1900xt.html

And it tells me it doesnt matter if i have the 1.1ns or the 1.2ns chips.
As 1.2 is rated for 800mhz anyways.

I flashed it and it works in a way lol.

I think it's windows messing it up.
It keeps defaulting to my X1900XT core clocks when it boots into windows. I'm not sure what it is though.
