Gigabyte 965P S3 v3.3 + 1066 RAM? Will it run?

Thread Starter
Was just curious if my board would run higher Mhz RAM. Its mem standard is DDRII 800, but was thinking mabe ptu in 1066 n set mem multi to 3.0 which would run it at 1055?

Would it work A, and would it be worth it B..

Currently running 4x1024 DDRII 800 @ 720 with 4-4-4-12 2t timings... Real uncomfortable with anything on my system being underclocked... It wont run OC'd, tried to set it to 2.5 and mem would be at 900, but no luck....

this linked ram crap is driving me nuts

1. Yes, it will work fine.

2. There is absolutely NO performance difference with having your memory at a higher speed than the front side bus except a miniscule difference in super pi. 1:1 ratio is the way to go.

i will just go down to 800 anyway, but the faster is cheap now good for future upgrades, imo

In my experience, if I do a 1:1 ratio, my RAM would be 768MHz. Now if I used 2.5 divider, I'll get 920MHz while on the same FSB, but for my folding time per percentage, it drops by 20-30 seconds. That's a lot.
