Q9450 high temps?

Thread Starter
I just got my Q9450, I have a TRUE extreme lapped, and I use MX-2. I idle with 3 cores at 41c, and 1 core at 37c. Anyone know if this is normal?

Is the one core thats at 37 ALWAYS stuck at 37? Even if you are at load?
I would say thats a little high based on what ive seen else where,
3.6 @ 1.25v 4 cores at an average of 44 under load.

Cores 1, 2, 4 are running at 44c at idle. Core 3 is running at 41c. When I use Prime95, cores 1,2,4 shoot up to 51c while core 3 goes to 46c.

To be honest, I had an E2180 on here using a ASUS Silent Knight II. Now I was too lazy and I didn't change the backplate (the thing underneath the motherboard) but I figured they were all the same as the screws that came with the TRUE fit just fine. I applied the MX-2 just like the arctic silver 5 website says. Should I just reseat it all and hope for the best?

ok what software tells you the individual core temps, I only have a cpu temp for the entire thing in any programs I run. If you tell me I will tell you numbers.

RealTemp 2.4 is giving me 42C idle temps at stock speed ... the bios temp reads 8C. So I really think the temp sensor is messed up or something, because I am on very good water.
