Speaking of a 22" monitor, I just made a post inside the Deal section here about a 22" Sceptre with a 2000:1 contrast ratio for $159 or less depending on if you have extra coupons.

Keyboard/Mouse, Monitor,

What can I say, http://www.slickdeals.net. Register an account and set up a deal alert for the word keyboard. The same goes for your monitor. You can get a 22 inch monitor somewhere for the price you have listed for that 19" on Newegg. I know right now Staples has a 19" monitor for $120 right now in stores.

Thermal Interface Material

Arctic Silver 5 is cheaper here $5.99 shipped but it's Paypal only.

CPU HSF

Not a bad choice and NE definitely has the cheapest shipped priced around since they are offering free shipping.
Thanks for the advice. I went ahead and orded some cabling from monoprice.com and some artic silver from pcviper. The only cable monoprice didn't have was the round ide cable. It only has it in pretty long lengths for a higher price than newegg and not in my preferred color so I skipped that for now.

There isn't an office max around here so I'm out of luck on that monitor deal since it's B&M only. Thanks for mentioning it though.

I also registered at slickdeals.net so hopefully one will come up there soon.

And you could always save a little bit of money by going to the 8800GTS. Its a little less in gaming performance and newegg has it, after rebates, 115. Otherwise good build. Congrats on going to college and always stinks leaving your parents huh? Or maybe your glad to go (: Have fun at college man, I did.
I am considering intel and actually have an intel wishlist made up but I'm not sure if I want to take the plunge into buying my first intel processor. If I go intel I really want to go for one of the new 45nm quad cores but they are really pricey atm and out of stock everywhere.

Well... Ive got an answer for you now.

I just RMA'd my second AMD Phenom 9600BE, and my new 9850BE. The new 9850 was supposed to show many improvements... I havnt gotten mine to work on anymore than one core. (It will not boot up unless I downcore the processor to 1 core.) Yeah, it's pretty gay. Hopefuly i'll get good replacements. But damn... Either im having some horrible luck or AMD is not watching their production lines very well... Havnt had a processor from them work correctly yet. (In the phenom line atleast) I love my AMD X2 6000+ that is a solid CPU, but the new Phenoms... Had nothing but troubles. It's really a headache.

Well that's disappointing. I really want to support AMD but these new Phenoms don't seem to be as mature and stable as the X2 Brisbane or the Athlon XP has been.
