I need provide a remote building with wireless internet,

So, does this set up look right!

ISP -> Modem -> Router -> TRENDnet TEW-632BRP Wireless N Router running as an Acess Point -> TRENDnet TEW-632BRP Wireless N Router running as a bridge -> TRENDnet TEW-632BRP Wireless N Router running as Acess Point

Trendnet says this is how its done!

If you can get the range with just the access points, you can forgo the bridge, otherwise, looks good.

I have a sig link on WAPs and bridging if you want to take a look.

I still say the WRT54GL is the best Router/WAP out there, but that trendnet one might be specialized.

That seems right to me.

Most consumer routers out there (even those with dd-wrt and the like) only allow the "connecting router" (read: router in the other building) to act as a bridge OR an access point, not both.

So, that being said, yeah, the way trendnet has it set up looks good to me.

UPDATE>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Trendnet tech support says that the TEW-632BRP will not run in bridge mode.....

So, he said if I setup one TEW-632BRP as an AP connected to my ISP's router and the other TEW-632BRP as an AP in the remote building it will pick up and rebroadcast the wireless signal giving me wireless internet and network access......

Is this correct ?

The way I would do this is to use WDS, this is where all WAPs basically act as WAPs, and connect to other devices and pass on signals from other WAPs.

Have you considered using a directional areal rather than a bridging device? Could you use that (and a boost in power from the router?) to get the distance?

Just to clarify I need to cover the general area of the remote building inside and out so hence the need for omni-directional antennas on both ends as they are both need to provide area wifi and wired access thats why I cant just use a cantenna or directional antenna.

Is there anything special I should know in order to make this work

ISP -> Router -> Wireless Router in AP mode(sending signal)-> Wireless Router in AP (receiving signal and broadcasting signal)-> swith/hub for wired pc's

Ofcourse I know that both should have DHCP disabled but what about like the mac addresses or something or is that not need will the remote AP just see the ssid of the other AP and work, anyone know the process?

With WDS, each client needs to know each other's MAC address.

If you put them in bridged mode, it just needs the network details and it will sort it.

It the way you have it, they all need to be on WDS, or one needs to be in client bridged mode, the other in AP mode.

Not client bridged mode stops it acting as a WAP - it simply acts as a client for the network, and sends all wired data it receives along the network.

Bridged mode sends all wireless signals on to another access point, and that is it.

I'm pretty sure you are wanting WDS in this situation, as it allows all APs to do everything.

I dont think anyone could tell me if AP and AP mode would work if I put in the mac address of one in the other and vise versa. Would they pickup and receive network and internet access?

Can someone say you need this, this and this to get this please use small words, ty lol!

The trendnet routers i am using are the only routers with n routing and removable antenna's and they WILL NOT go into a bridge mode only AP, so will it work ?
