The graphics in crysis dont look that much better than COD4, i understand theres a lot of particle physx in crysis, possibly the game was badly made/coded so GFX cards struggle?

there are alot of gfx differences in cod4, starting with it being DX9, i see your point in crysis being badly coded as it is pretty unoptimized but there are ALOT more things in crysis that cod4 doesnt have

I don't understand all the ruckus and animosity surrounding 3dmark06. It's a great tool to measure a lot of factors, and most importantly any improvements made in overclocking or system tweaking. Blah blah blah, with this cpu dependency bs I keep hearing. Of course it is, but it's cpu dependent for every system out there, not just the one that scores higher and fits your argument. The more variables when trying to make a comparison of 2 unalike systems will obviously skew the comparison factor. It would for anything. Get off 3dmark06's back unless you have something that is better that is obviously not coded for optimization for one manufacturer.

LOL you are "benchers" are you?

Have you done runs with nitrogen, two stage cascades? I have.

I don't doubt you know alot, but I'm fairly experienced myself and this system is all on air cooling, I'm sure I could improve the score too with lapping etc. 3Dmark isn't my most preferred bench and I barely even pushed the graphics cards to their limits.

Honestly you have not even compared the same setup to mine, it seems you can only speculate since you don't have my system, or can't even find the same system to compare it with to fairly judge performance.

If you can get better, then as a "bencher" you should have no problem finding the hardware and proving it.

The only fair comparison to mine is with the same hardware, a nvidia chipset and two 9800GX2s with dual core.

Otherwise it's known that both of you are wrong in your predictions.

May i be another person to say, YOU WOT MATE?

He compared a system that is far weaker than yours...which proves that you are doing something wrong with your system to get such a low score

If your 'only interested in actual help' why dont you stop being so arrogant/ignorant and actually read peoples advice

Thankyou
You should take your own advice, mate.

Also he did not compare a system weaker, just one that's completely different, it's well known the amd cards perform better in 3Dmark as a pose to real world performance, I can find a quote if you like.

ya 4.2 is pretty weak. he needs atleast 4.5 (wish i could hit a 500FSB im stuck at 498FSB lol)
Not really, considering it's stock with no modifications, that's 450FSB which is the known limit of these boards on average. 9.5 is still an unstable number to work with and it really needs a new bios revision to iron out the bugs.

Here's some more info for your education. Had you looked into this before all the arrogant comments this thread would still be a valuable and helpful one.

Anandtech The Oblivion without AA numbers on NVIDIA are low because a single 9800 GX2 actually outperforms the Quad-SLI until you hit 2560x1600. This beast is made for high res gaming as long as bandwidth doesn’t kill it. 2560x1600 with Crysis isn’t here yet (unless you want to turn the quality way down), but this is only for people with 30†panels. If the only thing you want to buy 9800 GX2 Quad-SLI for is Crysis then by all means save the cash and get a 1920x1200 panel. We certainly don’t recommend such flagrant spending for one title though, and if you want your money’s worth, you’ll want the biggest display possible.
