Need input on Mobo for Quad:

Thread Starter
Building for a friend and want some imput on a good/similar mobo Priced somewhere between 189-300$
Items I'm sold into:
Xigmatech S-1283 HDT Heatsink
OCZ DDR 800 Ram
Q6600 Go
Zotac 512 MB GTS Oc'ed Edition (700 mhz core 2k Mem)

I was going to get him the 780I but He won't be getting any 45 nm procs for like...ever... I'd really just like to push his ram/quad up while being able to instal that heatsink w/o any mounting issues.

I was thinking of an Evga 680I A1 But I'd really like to know how it stacks vs other versions of similar priced boards in this area. I've heard of XFX , Asus, FTW editions. I'd really like to cut through all the BS and just pick a SOLID OC'able board in that price range. Can you guys help me with some feedback plz?

Links to the items I'm pretty much Sold on:

Ram:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227269 (note on this Doesn't it only recognize in 2gig x2 pairs if I have a 64bit os? I've heard conflicting things)

Looking more for a comparison of the similar 680's vs the FTW Editions (750s) in terms of ability to overclock and stability from hands on experience, I have an Evga 680I A1 so I know it's good, but is there some nods at better variations of the board?

Bump:

Still looking for first hand bad experiences with this board, and or other alternate company models.

I've heard great things about asus strikers, Gigabyte boards, x38's, I'd like some practical input plz so I can review a few of these before the final build.

X38 Maximus Formula would be a pretty decent one if you don't go with the EVGA 680i board. Plus it is only $119.

He will most likely NOT run sli atm, but MAY upgrade to SLI a year or so from now. So i'd like the board to have the option if possible.
